9. (9) HP iPAQ H4100-series
10. (8) PalmOne Tungsten T3
( )= last months position.

The list for June is occupied by an increasing number of smartphones. What we can see is that Blackberry are making their way up, due to their increasing presence on the European market, however HP is still the dominant one.

-There might still be a little confusion among the average users concerning the difference between a PDA and a smartphone. What features to expect and how to "drive" the device to get the most out of your usage, says Ulf Sandberg, Marketing Director at Krusell. This is probably something that the market will catch upon pretty fast he ends. More...

HP rx3000 series information and photos @ PocketPCTools

Windows Mobile News

Manufacturers must file complete documentation with photos and manuals with the FCC for each new Pocket PC device they wish to sell in the US. Many times this gives us the first real "picture" of upcoming devices and Wayne Mahon of Pure Pockets has uncovered the manual for the upcoming HP iPAQ rx3000 series devices. The rx3000 looks to come in two flavors, the 3700 with a 400 MHZ processor and the 3400 with a 300 MHZ processor. Both units will have Bluetooth, WiFi (802.11b) and an integrated camera.

The most interesting thing in the user's manual for the rx3000 is what HP has called the iPAQ Mobile Media. HP is calling the rx3000 the Mobile Media Companion and there is an application preinstalled on the device that "gives you the ability to browse and play music, photos, and video collections over a wireless network from anywhere within your home. You can wirelessly stream digital content to your HP iPAQ or play your content on PCs around your Wi-Fi home network.

National Survey Finds the Internet, Web-Enabled Devices Too Important to Leave at Home During Summer Vacation

General PDA

Today's vacationers overwhelmingly turn to the Internet and Web-enabled consumer electronics to make virtually every part of their summer getaways easier and more enjoyable. According to a new survey conducted for SBC Communications Inc. (NYSE:SBC) , three-fourths of respondents say they are likely to go online while planning their trips to check prices, buy tickets and make reservations. Families are also relying on the Internet during their trips, with two in three respondents saying they are likely to use the Web to e-mail friends, family and co-workers, get maps and directions, and send digital photos home. In addition, seven out of 10 respondents expect to use Web-enabled devices such as digital cameras, laptops and digital music players during vacation.

Findings from the national survey of 500 households with Internet access shows that having Internet access while traveling is especially important for vacationers with devices that have wireless (Wi-Fi) capabilities. Half say a high-speed Internet connection is an important factor in choosing where they stay, and one in four is joining the growing trend of seeking out and using Wi-Fi hot spots at airports, restaurants or other locations during their trip. Quote:

"Flares, skateboards and Space Invaders, all returning from the pre-history of the latter half of the 20th century, with the youth of today lined up as a new and naïve clientele. I have absolutely no idea why kids today would find flares cool, but skateboards and Space Invaders will always be fun. Since this is PDACorps and not SkateCorps, I guess I’ll be reviewing a Space Invaders inspired game. How about the best one I’ve seen in ages, and easily the best Pocket PC incarnation…"
