SignWise Pro 2.51 Review @ net-security.org

Windows Mobile News

Quote:

"After the initial install was completed, users are given a notice that introduces them to the early steps of the SignWise setup. Basically, to complete the process the Pocket PC device must be restarted (this is done automatically) and briefly after starting the software for the first time, users must register their signature. As this is a crucial part of making this program THE boot up protection solution for your favorite handheld, you must take care of creating a decent signature. After restarting the device, we can see some new icons that were generated by SignWise. The first, SWLogout, is placed in the start menu and the important one, the SignWise program icon, is placed in the Settings/Personal folder. This is a bit peculiar from the first time user's point of view, as we usually strive to click the new icons in the Start menu. In this case we first need to go to the SignWise binary in the mentioned Settings/Personal folder."

Short Videos for PDAs Article @ videomaker.com

General PDA

Quote:

"Just as computers revolutionized work and play, Personal Digital Assistants (also known as PDAs) could change the way we see the world. Initially we only used PDAs as organizers, but now PDAs are also cell phones, cameras and music players. And now they can even play video. PDA manufacturers have been trying to put video on their machines for several years, but only recently has the quality of the video been good enough for it to be marketable. Initially PDA processors were much too slow to handle the amount of information it takes to produce good-looking video. We're seeing fast processors in most new PDAs from Palm and Windows based machines, and they will run video. "

Unlike handwriting recognition programs that force you to learn special characters, or to write your text in all upper case or all lower case letters, MobileWrite recognizes your own handwriting immediately.

MobileWrite converts your stylus strokes into letters, numbers, and punctuation. You can write directly onto the screen of the application which you're using, with no need for a keyboard. MobileWrite works with your calendar, address book, memo sheet, and all Palm OS applications. More...

Michigan Fire Commander Designs Tool to Improve the Way Firefighters Fight Fires

Windows Mobile News

According to the United States Fire Administration, more than 100 firefighters across America lose their lives every year. A Michigan firefighter has invented a product that he believes will reduce this statistic, and improve the way firefighters protect lives and property.

John Ellis, a 23-year firefighter veteran for the Fraser Public Safety Department in Fraser, Mich., has partnered with an information technology company to design accountability software that is compatible with a hand-held personal computer. Ellis predicts that using a pocket PC equipped with PAR (Personal Accountability Recorder) software will eventually replace the manual system that firefighters have historically used to account for personnel in the throws of a fire or emergency scene. In terms of functionality, A620BT has the necessary expandability but it still uses the CF instead of the newer SD. Well, CF might be a cheaper solution but it seems that it also consumes a lot of power when we tried it with a CF 802.11b card to wirelessly access the internet."
